Privacy Policy

Information we collect

TownSpark collects information that chambers and their authorized users provide, including work email addresses, chamber member rosters, profile edits, imported newsletter content, uploaded files, rights confirmations, acceptance of our terms, and review decisions made in the visibility dashboard.

When an authorized user connects a Facebook Page, TownSpark receives the selected Page’s ID and name, an access token, Page-authored public post content and associated public media or links, and limited Page performance insights when Meta makes them available. TownSpark does not receive the user’s Facebook password and does not request permission to publish, edit, delete, comment, message, or change Page settings.

We also collect essential session cookies and limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and diagnose the service.

How we use information

We use this information to operate TownSpark, authenticate authorized users, import chamber communications, identify possible mentions of member businesses, allow chamber staff to review matches, create visibility reports, maintain integrations, prevent misuse, and provide support.

How we share information

TownSpark does not sell personal information. Information is processed by service providers that support hosting, databases, background processing, email delivery, artificial-intelligence-assisted mention matching, and connected integrations. These currently include Vercel, Neon (Databricks), Trigger.dev, Resend, Anthropic, and Meta.

For ambiguous mention matching, TownSpark may send Page-authored post or newsletter text and a limited list of candidate chamber-member business names to Anthropic. TownSpark configures these requests for United States-only model inference. Facebook access tokens are not sent to Anthropic.

We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect the service, its users, or others.

Storage, security, and retention

Facebook access tokens are encrypted at rest. TownSpark uses chamber-scoped authorization, single-use login links, restricted sessions, and other technical safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Imported source content and derived visibility records are retained until the chamber or an authorized representative asks TownSpark to delete them. Connection credentials are deleted when the Facebook integration is disconnected or when deletion is requested. We may retain limited records when required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Google Maps photos

When a live Google Maps photo becomes visible, your browser connects to Google to load the image and any author avatar. Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser information. Google Maps content is subject to the Google Privacy Policy. We do not copy Google Maps article photos into our image storage.

Optional website analytics

On TownSpark city guides, we ask for permission before loading Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. If you allow analytics, Google may receive information about the pages you view, how you reached the site, your general device and browser characteristics, and interactions such as scrolling or outbound-link clicks. We use this information to understand which local guides are useful and improve the site. We do not send names, email addresses, or chamber account information through these analytics tags.

You may decline analytics when prompted. Your choice is stored in your browser and analytics remain off unless you select “Allow analytics.” Google processes this information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Your choices and rights

Authorized users may disconnect Facebook access through TownSpark or revoke TownSpark through Facebook’s settings. To request access, correction, export, or deletion of TownSpark data, email info@hallpassdigital.com. We will verify the requester’s authority and respond within 30 days.

Children

TownSpark is a business service for chambers of commerce and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
